Full job description

About Us

The Country Club Bridge of Don is a thriving, established private members' social club boasting a proud community of over 1,800 active members. We are a vibrant hub for the local area, hosting sports sections, regular family activities, live entertainment, and community events. We pride ourselves on offering a welcoming, high-standard environment for our members, and our bar operation sits right at the heart of everything we do.

We are now seeking an experienced, proactive, and charismatic Bar Manager to take full operational ownership of our bar and lounge areas, ensuring that our high standards of service, efficiency, and community spirit are maintained daily.

The Role

As the Bar Manager, you will be the face of our hospitality operation. Reporting to the Bar Convener and Committee, you will handle everything from stock management and staff scheduling to maintaining high-quality service standards during busy weekend entertainment nights.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and rota a small, dedicated team of bar staff, fostering a positive and efficient working environment.

Stock & Cellar Management: Oversee cellar operations, maintain proper line cleaning schedules, manage inventory/stock control, and build solid relationships with suppliers to maximise profitability.

Member Relations: Build great rapport with our active members and ensure your team delivers consistent, friendly, and efficient service.

Event Coordination: Work closely with the committee to plan, staff, and smoothly execute live entertainment events, sports gatherings, and private member functions.

Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to Scottish Licensing Laws, food safety hygiene standards, and health & safety regulations.

Financial Control: Oversee daily cashing up, secure till reconciliations, and handle basic budgetary controls.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a Bar Manager, Assistant Bar Manager, or senior hospitality supervisory role (Club environment experience is a plus, but not essential).

Qualifications: Must hold a valid Scottish Personal Licence (PLH).

Skills: Exceptional communication, strong leadership, and solid organizational skills. You should be as comfortable managing a cellar as you are chatting with members. Barista or cocktail mixing skills are advantageous.

Flexibility: As a lively social club, this role requires working evenings, weekends, and bank holidays in line with our opening hours and event schedule.

Drive: A community-minded individual who genuinely takes pride in creating a warm, safe, and enjoyable atmosphere for families and adults alike.

Knowledge: Knowledge of health regulations related to food safety and hygiene standards.

Organisational: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure with an understanding of digital bar and office suite systems.

What We Offer

Competitive salary package.

Pension scheme.

Generous holiday allowance.

A stable, community-driven working environment with a fiercely loyal customer base.

Opportunity to play a central role in shaping the social events and member experiences at the club.

Free parking on site.

How to Apply

If you have the experience, the license, and the passion to lead our bar operations, we want to hear from you!

Please send your updated CV along with a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience to the Club Secretary at secretary.ccbod@outlook.com, or drop your application off directly at the club during opening hours.

Application Deadline: Friday 10 July 2026

Pay: £26,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
