Bar / Food & Beverage Team Member

The Priory Hotel is set on the outskirts of the busy market town of Bury St Edmunds. It has 53 bedrooms, large conference and banqueting facilities, and dining facilities for both residents and non-residents. The hotel is owned by a family-run group of hotels based in East Anglia.

Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to become part of the Cameron Ventures Hotels team, working in the Bar / Food & Beverage department at our Priory Hotel in Bury St Edmunds.

Applicants must have previous bar service experience.

The working pattern reflects the nature of the role, and applicants must be willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

With Christmas approaching, applicants must be available to work weekends and throughout the Christmas Week and festive period.

This role would ideally suit someone who has previous experience in the hospitality industry.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will report to the F&B Supervisor / Duty Manager of the hotel. They will strive to continually improve guest satisfaction while maximising the financial performance of the company.

Skills

  • Impeccable service standards and excellent customer care skills.
  • A good understanding of Food & Beverage operations, including bar service, mise en place, and service standards.
  • Computer literate, with previous experience using EPOS hardware and software.
  • Ability to carry out a variety of tasks following appropriate training.
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and customer-focused approach.

Core Work Activities

  • Restaurant and Bar service, including taking orders, processing payments, and demonstrating good menu knowledge.
  • Setting up conferences, restaurants, and events.
  • Maintaining and cleaning public areas during service shifts.
  • Providing service that goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage customer retention.
