Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pub Supervisor to oversee daily operations within a lively pub environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer experiences, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The Pub Supervisor will play a key role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere while managing the operational aspects of the establishment efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of bar and restaurant staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring quality standards are met consistently.
  • Manage the serving of food and beverages, ensuring prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Lead team management efforts, including training new staff, scheduling shifts, and motivating team members.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and uphold hygiene standards across all areas.
  • Assist in food production tasks when necessary, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods.
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders for supplies, and manage inventory to minimise waste.
  • Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Ensure the pub environment adheres to health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Support promotional activities or events to enhance customer engagement.

Requirements

  • Proven supervising experience within a hospitality setting, preferably in pubs or restaurants.
  • Strong leadership qualities with excellent team management skills.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
  • Experience in restaurant or hotel environments is desirable; culinary experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with serving procedures and hospitality best practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and customers.
