Full job description

Overview
We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Bar Staff to join our friendly team to work mainly on weekends but some mid week shifts may be available. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for patrons. This role involves preparing and serving drinks, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience. Previous bar experience is essential, along with a strong understanding of food safety and responsible service of alcohol. The position offers an opportunity to work in a lively environment where your skills in serving, time management, and organisation will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages accurately and efficiently
  • Take orders from customers and provide friendly, professional service
  • Ensure all drinks are served in accordance with licensing laws and company policies
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including glassware, utensils, and work surfaces
  • Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
  • Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
  • Monitor customer behaviour to promote responsible drinking and safety
  • Assist in setting up for events or special occasions as required
  • Follow all food safety procedures and health & safety regulations at all times

Experience

  • Proven experience working in a bar environment is essential
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service is highly desirable
  • Strong skills in serving, including familiarity with POS systems and cash handling
  • Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanour
  • Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Previous experience in hospitality roles involving customer interaction is preferred
