THE ROLE

TEMPORARY ROLE: 1 August – 31 December 2026

We're launching an exciting pop-up bar and food market at Gun Wharf Quays Shopping Centre and are looking for a professional SIA Licensed Security Guard to join our team for the duration of this exciting event.

Operating 7 days a week during peak periods, the venue will attract large numbers of visitors enjoying food, drinks, and entertainment. We need an experienced security professional who can help ensure a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for our guests, staff, and vendors.

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the venue
  • Monitor customer behaviour and ensure compliance with venue policies
  • Conduct regular patrols of the event space, bar area, and customer seating areas
  • Respond calmly and effectively to incidents, conflicts, and emergencies
  • Assist with crowd management and queue control during busy periods
  • Work closely with management, bar staff, and event personnel to ensure smooth operations
  • Monitor access points and prevent unauthorised entry where required
  • Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records
  • Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a safe environment
  • Support evacuation procedures and emergency response plans if necessary

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential)
  • Previous experience in event, hospitality, retail, or venue security
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours
  • Right to work in the UK

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • First Aid qualification
  • Experience working at festivals, events, pop-up venues, or licensed premises
  • Conflict management and de-escalation experience
  • CCTV Licence (advantageous)

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a customer-facing security role and be comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment. You will be confident interacting with members of the public, resolving issues professionally, and helping create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
