Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled, friendly, and passionate Barber / Stylist to join the Equinox Gentleman’s Refinery family. This is on a self employed basis only.

Client base preferred but not essential.

The ideal candidate should take pride in their craft, deliver outstanding customer service, and enjoys building genuine relationships with clients. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a true passion for mens barbering are essential.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum 3 years’ salon experience
• Full-time & Part-time positions
• Self-employed basis
• Confident in all hairstyles & beard work
• Professional, reliable & client-focused
• Must love dogs (non-negotiable )
• Client base preferred but not essential
• Availability to help support the team during maternity leave

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality barbering and grooming services tailored to each client’s individual style, hair type, and preferences

Maintain exceptional standards of hygiene and cleanliness at all times, ensuring workstations and tools are clean, sanitised, and well-presented

• Provide thorough, personalised consultations to recommend suitable styles, treatments, and products
• Build strong rapport with clients to encourage loyalty, repeat bookings, and outstanding customer satisfaction
• Stay up to date with current trends, techniques, and products within barbering and men’s grooming
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients to fully understand and deliver their desired results
• Ensure the shop is clean and welcoming at all times, answering the door and phone professionally, and being punctual and reliable for every appointment

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ salon or barbershop experience.
• Minimum Level 2 Barbering NVQ or VTCT
• Recognised UK barbering or hairdressing qualification (old or new standards accepted)
• Proven experience delivering high levels of customer service within a professional salon or barbering environment
• Confident in opening and closing the shop independently and responsibly
• Strong communication skills with fluent spoken English
• Professional, courteous, and comfortable working with a diverse clientele
• Up-to-date knowledge of current hair trends, barbering techniques, and grooming products
• Well organised with the ability to manage multiple appointments while maintaining excellent service standards
• Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, well-presented working environment

Pay: £24,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
