South Tyneside Council’s Housing Services are looking for an exceptional Surveying Manager to lead our professional building surveying services and ensure our residents live in safe, compliant and well-maintained homes.
This is a pivotal role within our Asset and Property Services Team, responsible for managing a team of surveyors delivering responsive repairs, damp, mould and condensation interventions, stock condition surveys, structural inspections, Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments, investment programmes and property-related compliance activities.
You will help drive improvements in housing quality, regulatory compliance, tenant satisfaction and asset performance while ensuring we are prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities arising from the Social Housing Regulation Act and evolving consumer standards.
You will lead a team of building surveyors and support services responsible for diagnosing property defects, managing complex repairs and ensuring that housing conditions meet required standards. You will oversee the delivery of professional surveying services across our housing portfolio, ensuring effective management of property condition, disrepair risks, structural issues and housing health hazards.
We are looking for a highly skilled building surveying professional with a strong technical background, who is passionate about improving housing quality and committed to delivering excellent outcomes for tenants.
