Full job description

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Café Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with daily café operations, provide excellent customer service, prepare food and beverages, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and take food and beverage orders
  • Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages
  • Handle cash and card payments accurately using the POS system
  • Prepare light food items such as sandwiches, pastries, and salads
  • Maintain cleanliness of tables, counters, and service areas
  • Restock supplies and display items as needed
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards
  • Assist with opening and closing duties
  • Support team members during busy periods

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred (not always required)
  • Basic knowledge of coffee preparation (barista skills are a plus)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good time management and multitasking abilities
  • Friendly, positive attitude and team-player mindset
  • Basic math skills for handling payments
