About us

YayLo is looking an energetic, fun filled person to join us as a baker/barista. .

What are the main duties of a YayLo Baker/barista?

Baking from scratch and preparing a range of high quality gluten free food including quiche, scones, traybakes etc. as well as making great coffee and drinks. Baking from scratch means you should be familiar with weighing, measuring, blending, mixing, kneading, batching, oven baking, creating icing and cake decoration. Knowledge of gluten free processes will be an advantage. Although you will likely start by learning the basics of our products you will soon be able to expand your skills to include

  • Making great cakes and coffee
  • Serving customers and helping team members to clean
  • Initiative - always on the move looking for things to do
  • Keeping everything sparkling clean and hygienic at all times, including personal appearance and hygiene
  • Notifying the team so we can restock in good time
  • A love of learning and enthusiasm for self-development
  • A natural curiosity that drives one to always seek a better way of doing something
  • Excellent attention-to-detail
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Agile

Good to have:

  • Experience in baking, preferably Gluten-Free baking
  • Barista skills
  • A qualification in food hygiene
