Kitchen Porter to Commis Chef – Development Opportunity

Location: The Elm Tree
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Hours: Full-time

Are you passionate about food and looking to build a career in the kitchen?

The Elm Tree is looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our team in a unique Kitchen Porter to Commis Chef development role. This position is perfect for someone who wants to learn, grow, and progress within a professional kitchen environment.

No formal chef experience is required – just a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for hospitality and cooking.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the kitchen team with cleaning and organisation
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
  • Assisting chefs with basic food preparation
  • Learning key kitchen skills and cooking techniques
  • Helping with deliveries, stock rotation, and kitchen organisation
  • Progressively taking on more responsibility as your skills develop
