Full job description

It is an exciting time to join us at Redmayne Bentley. As we continue to build on our strong foundations, we are strengthening our technology governance, risk, and resilience capabilities to support the next phase of our firm-wide strategy.

We are looking for an experienced IT Governance, Risk & Resilience Specialist to play a key role in ensuring our IT systems, controls, and processes are robust, well-governed, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

Working closely with the IT Services and Information Security Manager and Director of IT, you will contribute to the governance, oversight, and assurance of our technology environment, supporting the firm’s regulatory obligations and long-term resilience.

You will have ownership across a broad range of areas, including:

  • Overseeing and maintaining the firm’s IT risk framework, ensuring risks are appropriately identified, assessed, and managed
  • Producing clear, insightful governance and resilience reporting for senior stakeholders and the Executive Board
  • Supporting the firm’s operational resilience through disaster recovery and failover testing
  • Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, ensuring findings are effectively managed through to resolution
  • Maintaining IT policies, standards, and control documentation, ensuring they remain current and aligned to regulatory and business needs
  • Supporting alignment with recognised standards such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials

This is a varied and visible role where you will not be a small cog in a much larger wheel. You will be valued for your expertise and have the opportunity to make a genuine impact in supporting the firm’s governance and resilience objectives.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who brings a strong risk and control mindset, with the ability to operate confidently within a regulated environment.

You will likely have:

  • Experience in IT governance, risk, resilience, or information security
  • A strong understanding of risk frameworks, governance structures, and control environments
  • Experience supporting audit or regulatory activity, and managing findings
  • The ability to produce clear, structured reporting for senior stakeholders

Alongside:

  • Strong analytical thinking and sound judgement
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • A structured, organised, and detail-focused approach
  • Confidence working with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
  • A proactive and accountable approach to managing your work

We also expect all candidates to demonstrate our core values of Excellence, Integrity, Respect, Responsibility and Teamwork.

What does the future look like?

Once established in the role, you will have the opportunity to further shape and develop the firm’s IT governance and resilience framework, contributing to continuous improvement across our technology and control environment.

Redmayne Bentley supports ongoing professional development, including the opportunity to work towards relevant industry certifications and expand your experience within governance, risk, and information security.

For those looking to progress, there will be opportunities to take on increased responsibility and develop into more senior roles within governance, risk, or IT leadership.
