Berlitz is seeking a German Language Teacher to join our teaching team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable German teacher who can deliver high-quality, engaging lessons to a range of adult learners, including private students, professionals and corporate clients.

We are primarily recruiting for a full-time position, although we are also happy to consider applicants looking for part-time work, with hours and remuneration offered on a pro-rata basis.

The role will primarily involve face-to-face teaching at our Oxford language centre, with some online teaching where required. Students may range from complete beginners to advanced learners, with courses covering both general and professional German.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and communicative German language lessons to individuals and groups
  • Teach students across a range of abilities, from beginner to advanced
  • Prepare and adapt lessons according to students’ needs, objectives and learning styles
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Maintain accurate attendance and progress records
  • Support students in developing practical speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
  • Work closely with the Language Centre team to ensure a consistently high standard of teaching
  • Teach both general and business German as required

Requirements

  • Fluent or native-level German
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • A confident, engaging and professional teaching style
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching to different learners and objectives
  • Previous language teaching experience is preferred
  • A degree, teaching qualification, or qualification in languages, linguistics or education is desirable, but not essential

Training in the Berlitz teaching method can be provided.

This role is based in central Oxford and we are particularly interested in applicants who are available to teach in person and would like to become a regular part of our teaching team.

Full-time applicants are preferred, although part-time applications are also very welcome, with the role adjusted on a pro-rata basis.
