The successful candidate must be able to develop complete commercial kitchen layouts from initial client requirements with minimal or no input, ensuring designs are practical, compliant and suitable for installation.

In addition to kitchen design, you will produce Revit MEP services drawings and AutoCAD technical drawings. Ventilation duct route drawings are copy drafting only, based on existing ventilation designs and information provided—they do not require ventilation system design or calculations.

  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical service requirements for kitchen installations.
  • Amend and update drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with project managers, clients and installation teams.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and project specifications.
  • Maintain organised drawing records and meet project deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience designing commercial kitchens independently.
  • Competent in use of MS Office, specifically MS Word and MS Excel
  • Ability to produce practical, functional kitchen layouts without design input from others.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Experience producing MEP services drawings.
  • Experience preparing technical construction drawings.
  • Good understanding of commercial kitchen operations and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within the commercial catering or foodservice industry.
  • Knowledge of BIM workflows.
  • Understanding of building services coordination.
  • Familiarity with kitchen ventilation systems (design experience not essential).

What we offer

  • Competitive salary of £30,000–£32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Hours of work, 08.00 to 16.30 Monday to Friday, with 1/2 hour lunch.
  • Office-based role.
  • Company pension.
  • 28 days paid annual leave, including statutory holidays.
  • Ongoing training and career development opportunities.
