Lead Major M&E Tenders for One of Northern Ireland's Leading Contractors
Kenect Recruitment are working on behalf of a leading M&E contractor to recruit an Estimating Bid Lead for their growing Mechanical & Electrical Projects Division based in Belfast
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator, Bid Manager, Pre-Construction Manager or Estimating Team Lead looking to take ownership of high-value tender submissions and play a key role in securing major projects across the UK and Ireland.

The Role
As Estimating Bid Lead, you will manage the tender process from initial enquiry through to submission, negotiation and contract award.
You will lead multidisciplinary bid teams, coordinate tender activities, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure all submissions are commercially competitive, technically compliant and delivered to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the preparation of mechanical and electrical tender submissions
- Review tender documentation and identify risks, opportunities and compliance requirements
- Develop bid strategies, programmes and resource plans
- Coordinate internal departments and external stakeholders throughout the bid process
- Raise and manage technical, commercial and contractual queries
- Prepare and submit high-quality, compliant tender returns
- Attend tender presentations, client meetings and negotiations
- Participate in tender adjudications and provide commercial recommendations
- Monitor bid progress and ensure deadlines are achieved
- Report on tender status, risks and opportunities to senior management
- Support continuous improvement within the estimating and bid function
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Estimating, Bid Management, Pre-Construction or Tendering
- Strong background within Mechanical & Electrical contracting
- Experience managing bids from enquiry through to contract award
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, schedules and contract documents
- Strong commercial awareness and pricing experience
- Experience with risk assessment and value engineering
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software
