BICYCLE TECHNICIAN/ MECHANIC

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a skilled Bicycle Technician to join our busy Norwich store, using your expertise to keep our customers and local cycling community rolling smoothly.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll work in a friendly, fast-paced environment as part of a team passionate about cycling, delivering excellent customer service and building a welcoming cycling community that helps more people enjoy life on two wheels.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Bike Building/ Wheel Building:

- Build and assemble bicycles subject to full pre-delivery inspection

- Build wheels to the same high-quality standard where needed

  • Repairs:

- Perform full diagnostic and subsequent repairs on customer’s bicycles and E-bikes, ensuring the highest safety and performance standards are met

  • Diagnostics:

- Diagnose and resolve all warranty related issues

- Conduct diagnostics on E-shifting systems, E-Bikes and Power Meters to ensure optimal functionality

- Provide accurate repair quotes and advice to customers

  • Customer Service

- Handle enquiries including calls and emails, addressing repair or technical issues and making informed decisions

- Deliver expert advice and outstanding customer service

- Help customers to choose the right service or repair work for their bike and

offer add-ons or upsell where needed

- Drive sales though product knowledge and recommendations

- Maintain high standards across the workshop and store in general

  • Assist with, or carry out other duties when required

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The person we’re looking for will be someone who loves to be around bikes and people! You’ll be a highly organised and motivated bicycle mechanic with proven previous experience, and the ability to work in a time-critical, and on occasion, pressured environment.

You’ll play a key role in delivering expert repairs and precision builds, and providing outstanding customer service to anyone who walks into store.

Along with a friendly manner and a can-do attitude, you’ll be working in a small team, so you’ll need to be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideally a minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a service or workshop environment within the cycling or relatable industry
  • Qualified bicycle mechanic with NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds Level 2 ideal
  • Cytech trained ideal, but we will cover the cost of your training if not
  • Up to date with the latest cycling technologies
  • Experience with diagnosing, maintaining and repairing all bicycle and E-Bike componentry
  • A passion for cycling or the bicycle industry would be advantageous

THE PACKAGE

Location: Giant Store, Norwich, NR4

Term: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £28,500 plus store performance related bonus

Hours: 9:00 – 17:30, Five days a week including one weekend day
