Role: Senior Research and Development Scientist

Location: Motherwell, Scotland (Onsite)

Hours: Full-time

Pay: £14.95 – £16.20 per hour PAYE basic, plus holiday pay

Contract: 12 month contract

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research and Development Scientist to join one of our longstanding global healthcare clients at their Motherwell site.

Working within the R&D team, you will lead complex experimental programmes, provide technical leadership and contribute to the development of next-generation diagnostic products.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline
  • Significant industry laboratory experience
  • Strong project planning and scientific data analysis experience
  • Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead complex workstreams independently
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior scientists
  • Knowledge of GLP, GMP and GDP environments

The Role

  • Lead complex experimental programmes from concept through to design transfer
  • Plan and coordinate technical workstreams
  • Analyse complex scientific data and provide recommendations
  • Prepare and review technical documentation
  • Present findings to internal stakeholders
  • Support product development and design transfer activities
  • Mentor junior scientists and provide technical guidance
  • Drive continuous improvement and laboratory excellence
