An outstanding secondary school in Islington is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Graduate Science Teaching Assistant to join its dynamic Science faculty from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a high-calibre graduate with a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Natural Sciences or a related discipline to gain invaluable classroom experience in a school renowned for academic excellence and exceptional student outcomes.
Working alongside an experienced team of Science teachers, you'll support students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, helping them develop confidence, curiosity and a genuine passion for scientific discovery. Whether your ambition is to become a qualified teacher, educational researcher or pursue another career within education, this role offers the ideal platform to develop the skills and experience needed to succeed.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Graduate Science Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support engaging Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- Deliver targeted one-to-one and small group intervention sessions.
- Help students prepare for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
- Assist with practical investigations and laboratory-based learning.
- Encourage students to think critically, solve problems and develop scientific enquiry skills.
- Support teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
- Build positive relationships with students, motivating them to achieve their full academic potential.
