Clinical Applications Specialist

We are currently looking for a full-time, field based team member to provide Application Support in Operating Theatres for the state-of-the-art medical equipment we make available to hospitals on a mobile hire basis. Full training will be provided.

The role involves extensive domestic travel with a varied and flexible working schedule (occasional weekend cover may be required, and some days may involve in excess of 8 hours work). Full UK Driving License essential.

The role

· Travelling to various hospitals that work with us.

· Set up, management and decontamination of equipment in Operating Theatre

· Support the use of equipment by Surgeon during the procedures

· Close interaction with hospital theatre team & surgeons

· Decontamination, dismantling and packing up of equipment at end of list

· Additional duties such as reviewing images for contouring, maintenance of equipment, preparation of Focal Therapy Meeting notes etc

Duties & Responsibilities

· Management/planning travel to ensure that individual arrives as the assigned hospital with sufficient time to locate equipment, set up and ensure all is ready for the surgeon to use when required.

· Manage the surgeons use of our equipment by providing specialist experience and guiding Surgeons in use and care of equipment and software.

· Download, Transfer and discuss Biopsy/Treatment Plans with surgeon before procedure/treatment.

· Arrange for provision of required consumables, maintaining accurate inventory and up to date completion of records

· Prepare confidential reports by collecting, analysing and summarising information

· Maintain a safe and healthy working environment

· Liaise with colleagues and management team regularly

The ideal candidate

· Experience in either clinical support and/ or engineering support roles within an Operating Theatre environment

· Technical/electro-mechanical appreciation

· Commercial awareness

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

· Ability to learn new technologies and teach them to others

· Impeccable time management and organisational skills

· Dynamic, Dependable, Patient, Meticulous and Proactive

· Awareness of data Protection/experience of working with confidential data

· IT Literate

· Excellent health and employment record

· Own car in excellent mechanical condition, insured for business purposes with full breakdown cover
