Scotia Security Group designs, manufactures and installs physical and electronic security products for the Banking and ATM industries.

Our 50+ years’ experience in the security industry is backed by an innovative design team collaborating closely with banking security organisations and law enforcement agencies to successfully resolve the evolving threats on a proactive basis. We have been very successful in applying the latest technological and material innovations to these unique challenges.

Based in our state of the art facility in Straiton, Edinburgh we utilise automated CNC machinery to rapidly manufacture products and prototypes designed in-house, using the latest 3D CAD techniques. Our own UK wide installation and service teams ensure a highly professional and quick response customer experience.

The Role: We are looking to recruit a creative and self-motivated Electronics and Software Design Engineer who will be involved in supporting general engineering projects, product design, system design, product support and ongoing development of products.

Based within our design and manufacturing team you will:

· Design Electronic components and assemblies

· Have the ability to take products from concept to full production

· Design electro-mechanical assemblies

· Liaise and support our production team

· Product prototyping and testing

· Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers

· Introduce new materials, processes and technologies to the company

· Engage with customers and the security industry to develop new product ideas

· Assist in product prototyping and testing

You will work with:

· The directors and management to build and deliver the company vision.

· Customers to ensure their requirements are realised

· The production team to deliver optimum quality and efficiency

Key Requirements

You will have a relevant recognised qualification in engineering.

Candidates should:

· Have recent experience of electronic design and firmware development from concept to production

· Have experience in PCB design

· Have experience in designing electromechanical assemblies

. Experience with home automation type products

. Knowledge of RF

· Be highly organised, with the ability to plan tasks and time effectively

· Have a thorough and methodical approach to completing tasks

· Display a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation

· Take pride in the quality of their work

· Be inventive and creative

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
