Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about innovative system design and mechanical engineering. The successful candidate will assist in developing and refining engineering solutions, supporting project execution from concept through to realisation. The position involves working closely with senior engineers to gain practical experience in design processes, technical analysis, and system optimisation. This paid role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers eager to develop their skills within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of system designs using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Schematics tools.
  • Support the creation and modification of technical drawings adhering to GD&T standards.
  • Contribute to the realisation of projects by preparing detailed schematics and technical documentation.
  • Perform root cause analysis on design issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Utilise MATLAB and Simulink for modelling, simulation, and analysis of engineering systems.
  • Support the integration of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) into system designs, ensuring functionality aligns with project requirements.
  • Aid in testing and validating prototypes using LabVIEW and other measurement tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure system design meets technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Participate in troubleshooting activities and assist in refining designs based on testing outcomes.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of system design principles.
