About the opportunity

This role is based in Bristol, England, and offers the chance to develop your design engineering expertise within a collaborative team environment. You would contribute to product design initiatives from concept through to delivery, working with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet technical specifications, regulatory standards and manufacturing requirements. The position is offered on a contract basis at £250–280 per day, providing flexibility and the opportunity to gain broad exposure across multiple projects and design challenges.

What you would do

Typical responsibilities could include:

• Contributing to the design and development of mechanical, electrical, or control system components
• Producing technical drawings, specifications and design documentation to ISO 9001 standards
• Supporting design reviews, feasibility studies and concept evaluations
• Collaborating with manufacturing, quality and project teams to ensure designs are fit for production
• Assisting with CAD modelling, simulation and prototyping activities
• Documenting design decisions and maintaining accurate design records
• Supporting the resolution of design-related technical queries and issues

What you could bring

Most roles of this type require the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls or related discipline)
• Practical experience in product design or design engineering within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with CAD software and technical drawing standards
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to specifications
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
• Authorization to work in the United Kingdom
