We’re looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to deliver high-reliability electronic hardware for medical devices from early concept through to production. You’ll take technical ownership of hardware design on individual projects, working closely with firmware, manufacturing and quality teams. You have strong experience delivering production-grade electronic designs for medical or regulated products, are comfortable developing schematics and PCB layouts, and have taken designs through prototyping, validation and compliance. You are accountable for hardware quality, safety and robustness, and can execute decisively under pressure while communicating effectively with the wider team.

What You’ll Do

• Design high-reliability electronic hardware, including schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts.
• Lead circuit prototyping, board bring-up and system debugging activities.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure design quality, manufacturability and regulatory compliance.
• Perform and support EMC testing, diagnose failures and implement corrective design actions.
• Work closely with firmware engineers to ensure effective hardware–firmware integration.
• Produce clear and concise documentation covering schematics, layouts, test results and design decisions.
• Ensure all hardware designs comply with relevant medical device regulations and standards.
• Own risk analysis and FMEA activities.
• Support clinical trials and FDA submissions by providing technical documentation and engineering expertise.

What You’ll Bring

• Extensive experience with schematic capture and PCB layout for complex embedded systems.
• Strong expertise in mixed-signal design, power supplies, filtering and sensor interfacing. Experience designing ECG, PPG or other bio-signal acquisition circuits is a plus.
• Experience designing low-power and battery-powered electronic systems.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, board bring-up and hardware debugging.
• Experience designing HDI, flex or rigid-flex PCBs.
• Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools, with Altium preferred.
• Experience planning, executing and remediating EMC testing.
• Solid understanding of digital electronics, microcontrollers and hardware–firmware interfaces.
• Ability to use structured testing and metrics to evaluate hardware and battery performance.
• Awareness of regulatory requirements for medical devices.
• Ability to build a working understanding of UK and US healthcare workflows.

Nice to Have

• Experience testing and evaluating Li-Ion batteries and associated hardware.
• Experience working in regulated industries such as medical, aerospace or automotive.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacture/Test and working directly with manufacturing partners.
• Knowledge of signal processing and filtering.
• Experience designing electronics that interface directly with the human body, including biomedical sensors, electrodes or other physiological measurement systems.

Pay: £70,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
