We are now seeking a R&D & Product Specialist to join us at the heart of our commercial engine.
This is a high-level “right-hand” role working directly with the Managing Director. You will not just be managing tasks; you will be supporting the global distribution of world-class diagnostic technology. The role is ideal for someone who wants to gain broad experience and grow into a more senior position over time
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated R&D & Product Specialist in Life Sciences to join our team at AMD in Great Britain. This role is vital in driving product innovation and supporting the development of our diagnostic solutions, aligning with our commitment to excellence and scientific advancement.
Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities
1. R&D Support & Product Development
· Support ongoing development and optimization of molecular diagnostic assays
· Assist in validation activities and performance evaluation of products
· Coordinate with internal and external R&D partners on development projects
· Contribute to continuous improvement of product performance and usability
2. Product Knowledge & Technical Support
· Develop a strong understanding of AMD’s assay portfolio and applications
· Provide technical support to clients and distributors (troubleshooting, guidance)
· Assist in resolving product-related issues in collaboration with R&D teams
· Support preparation of technical documentation and product materials
3. Quality & Compliance
· Assist in maintaining documentation in line with ISO 13485 requirements
· Support quality control processes and product documentation reviews
· Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions when required
4. Training & Product Application
· Support delivery of product training sessions (remote or on-site)
· Assist in preparing user manuals, protocols, and training materials
· Help ensure customers achieve optimal use of AMD technologies
5. Growth & Development Support
· Work closely with the Managing Director on business and operational priorities
· Assist in identifying opportunities for improving performance and efficiency
· Take on increasing responsibility over time based on performance and development Innovation Culture: Work with a product line that is recognized for being at the absolute forefront of molecular science.
6. Cross-Functional Support
· Work closely with operations and commercial teams to align product and market needs
· Support internal coordination between R&D, production, and external partners
· Contribute to improving workflows and technical processes
- The Ideal Candidate
Education
Degree in Life Sciences (Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Science) or Biomedical Engineering
Experience
· 1–3 years of laboratory, R&D, or technical experience
· Experience in molecular diagnostics, PCR, or related techniques is highly desirable
· Internship or academic lab experience will be considered
Skills & Mindset
· Strong scientific understanding and attention to detail
· Problem-solving mindset with analytical thinking
· Good communication skills (ability to explain technical concepts clearly)
· Willingness to learn and work in a small, fast-paced environment
· Proactive and able to take initiative
