We’re looking for an Advanced Biomedical Scientist to join our Histology team at HCA Cyted Laboratories in Huntingdon. This is a role where your expertise is recognised and your judgement is trusted. You’ll be working in a modern, digitally led histopathology service with strong clinical collaboration at its core. The team is stable, experienced, and focused on delivering consistently high standards, with an environment that supports both professional pride and day-to-day balance.
As an Advanced Biomedical Scientist in Histology, you’ll play a central role in shaping dissection practice within the laboratory. Working closely with Consultant Pathologists and colleagues, you’ll contribute to efficient workflows and high-quality outcomes while supporting the continued evolution of the service. With predictable weekday working and a strong focus on quality rather than constant capacity pressure, you’ll have the space to develop your practice, support others, and contribute to meaningful service improvements.
At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.
What you’ll do:
- Undertake routine and complex histological work, with a focus on high-quality tissue dissection
- Act as an advanced point of reference for dissection, supporting consistency and best practice across the laboratory
- Manage dissection equipment and consumables to ensure continuity of service
- Contribute to the day-to-day organisation and performance of the Histopathology department, supporting turnaround times and quality standards
- Support training, development, and competency assessment within the team
What you’ll bring:
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
- Experience working in an ISO 15189 accredited Histology laboratory
- Proven experience in tissue dissection
- Strong ability to work independently while supporting team performance
- A proactive approach to quality improvement and service development
