Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Haematology and Blood Transfusion to join our dynamic Blood Sciences Department. You will support patient investigations by preparing, storing, and using reagents and consumables appropriately, performing manual laboratory procedures such as precision pipetting, reagent preparation, and complex analytical testing.
Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Biomedical Scientist, you will process and analyse patient samples across one of the laboratorys four sub-sections on a rotational basis. You will apply current scientific knowledge and advanced methodologies to ensure accurate and reliable test results. You will safely and proficiently use complex laboratory analysers, performing routine maintenance and performance checks as required. Working as a valued member of the team, you will operate with minimal supervision, deputising for senior staff when needed, and take responsibility for designated areas within the department according to your specialist expertise. Additionally, you will actively support and participate in the laboratorys Quality Management System to maintain high standards of practice and compliance.
