Overview of the role:
The Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics and Corpus Christi College seek to appoint a Departmental Lecturer to engage in advanced study and lecture and teach undergraduate students, to take a leading role in college teaching and admissions at Corpus Christi College, and to conduct some independent research that dovetails with the teaching remit, broadly related to physiology.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver and support teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students (lectures, tutorials, supervision, assessment) across department and college.
- Develop course materials, including lectures, reading lists, and guides.
- Assess university examinations.
- Support student welfare, performance, and conduct, referring issues where needed.
- Organise aspects of the Physiology syllabus.
Selection criteria:
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant biomedical field completed at PhD or MD level
- An aptitude for teaching and demonstrable experience in teaching, supported by a track record of subject-relevant research
- Sufficient depth and breadth of knowledge in the subject of physiology and pharmacology to deliver and develop course materials
- Experience of creating collaborative and inclusive environments with people from different backgrounds.
Please refer to the job description for the complete responsibilities and selection criteria.
What we offer:
- Your wellbeing at work matters, so we offer a range of family friendly and financial benefits including:
- An excellent contributory pension scheme
- 38 days annual leave
- A comprehensive range of childcare services
- Family leave schemes
- Cycle and electric car loan schemes
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Membership to a variety of social and sports clubs
- Discounted bus travel and Season Ticket travel loans
While this is a full-time role, we welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working or other flexible working arrangements.
How to apply:
Please provide a supporting statement outlining how you meet the selection criteria along with your CV, and the details of two referees as part of your online application.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday 19th June.
Interviews will be held on Microsoft Teams.
