The Role

As a Graduate Science Learning Mentor, you will support students across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and potentially A-Level Science, delivering targeted academic support both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted support across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Lead small-group and one-to-one intervention sessions
  • Support students with scientific knowledge, practical applications, and exam preparation
  • Help pupils develop analytical thinking, problem-solving, and investigative skills

  • Assist students preparing for assessments, GCSEs, and A-Level examinations
  • Work closely with Science teachers to raise attainment and confidence
  • Support classroom learning and encourage student engagement in STEM subjects

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • A minimum 2:1 degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a related STEM subject
  • Strong subject knowledge across at least one science discipline
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young people
  • An ambition to pursue a career in teaching or education

Desirable

  • Previous tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or classroom-based experience
  • Familiarity with the GCSE Science curriculum
  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting
