Datar Cancer Genetics is seeking an experienced and technically skilled Bioinformatics Pipeline Lead to take ownership of the design, development, validation, maintenance, and scaling of clinical-grade bioinformatics workflows.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an individual with a strong background in bioinformatics, NGS data analysis, and pipeline development. You will work closely with our wet-lab, clinical, and quality teams to develop robust, scalable, and clinically reliable bioinformatics systems supporting oncology genomics, transcriptomics, methylation, and related molecular diagnostic applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development and implementation of bioinformatics pipelines for clinical and research-grade NGS workflows.
• Oversee pipeline validation, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and support workflows for somatic variant calling, fusion detection, CNV analysis, MSI, RNA-seq/transcriptomics, methylation, and other molecular applications.
• Build automation for data processing, quality control reporting, and routine analysis.
• Ensure reproducibility, traceability, version control, and effective management of tools, parameters, and reference datasets.
• Collaborate with wet-lab, clinical, and quality teams to resolve pipeline and data-quality challenges.
• Contribute to technical documentation, SOPs, validation records, and audit-ready documentation.

Essential Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Bioinformatics, Genetics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in bioinformatics, preferably within clinical diagnostics, molecular pathology, or oncology.
• Strong practical experience in NGS data analysis, pipeline development, and workflow automation.
• Strong understanding of quality control, validation, reproducibility, and version control.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience with genomics, transcriptomics/RNA-seq, DNA methylation, and multi-omics workflows.
• Familiarity with somatic variant interpretation, annotation, and clinical reporting workflows.
• Experience with workflow management systems, containerisation, and reproducible computing.
• Exposure to regulated laboratory environments and clinical or diagnostic documentation practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, clinical, and laboratory teams.
