Job Overview
We are seeking Medical Laboratory Assistants to join our private laboratory based on Wynyard Business Park. In this vital role, you will support laboratory operations by preparing specimens, assisting with testing procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Assisting biomedical scientists with sample processing
- Support the setup and calibration of laboratory equipment, adhering to safety and quality standards
- Record detailed test results accurately in laboratory information systems
- Ensure all laboratory areas are clean, organised, and comply with infection control procedures including proper disposal of biohazardous waste
- Partake in the reception of samples and the preparation for analysis
Experience
- Previous hospital or clinical laboratory experience is highly preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology used within laboratory settings
- A degree in biomedical sciences (or similar)
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance is advantageous

Positions available:
- Full time - Monday to Friday 35hrs, 1 in 3 Saturday of 6hrs
- Part time - Thursday, Friday, Saturday (potentially negotable)
- Saturday only - but will have opportunity to be offered overtime if available
Pay: From £25,187.00 per year
Work Location: In person
