Orthotics Technician – Full Training Provided

Location: Wellingborough

Hours: Full-time 7:30 – 4:30 Monday to Thursday, 7:30 – 12:30 Friday
Contract: Permanent

Salary: Depending on Experience

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic person to join our orthotics manufacturing team as an Orthotics Technician.

No previous experience in orthotics is required, as full training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and would like to learn a new trade within the healthcare and manufacturing industry.

You will receive training in the manufacture, modification and finishing of orthotic devices that are used to support patients with a range of conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn to manufacture and modify orthotic devices to the required specification.
  • Work with a range of materials, including thermoplastics, foams, metals and leather.
  • Learn to safely use workshop machinery and hand tools.
  • Carry out processes such as heating and forming plastics, drilling, grinding, sanding and assembly.
  • Follow job specifications and manufacturing instructions.
  • Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe.
  • Work as part of a friendly and supportive manufacturing team.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures.

About You

Previous experience is not essential. We are looking for someone who:

  • Is willing to learn and develop new skills.
  • Enjoys practical and hands-on work.
  • Has good attention to detail.
  • Is reliable and hardworking.
  • Can follow instructions carefully.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Takes pride in producing high-quality work.
  • Has a positive attitude and is willing to learn from experienced technicians.

You may have experience in a completely different industry. If you have a practical attitude and are keen to learn, we want to hear from you.

Full Training Provided

You will receive comprehensive on-the-job training from experienced members of the team. You will gradually develop the practical skills and knowledge required to manufacture orthotic devices safely and to a high standard.

There may also be opportunities to work towards relevant qualifications and develop a long-term career within the Orthotics Industry
