Job Title: Bar & Front of House Team | BAHA Bowness | Live-In Available

Location: Bowness-on-Windermere, Lake District

Pay: £12.75–£13.00 per hour, depending on experience

Job Type: Full-Time & Part-Time

Live-In Accommodation: Available for full-time employees only, subject to availability

Work Location: In person

About BAHA

Located in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, BAHA is a vibrant three-floor hospitality venue combining food, cocktails, live music, entertainment and late-night trading.

Across the venue, guests can enjoy everything from relaxed food and drinks to Asian BBQ-inspired dining, cocktails, live music, karaoke and private celebrations.

BAHA is part of Hargreaves Enterprises, a family-run hospitality group based in the Lake District.

We’re looking for confident, friendly and enthusiastic people to join our team in a combined Bar & Front of House role.

This is a varied position where you’ll be expected to support both behind the bar and on the floor. You could be serving cocktails one moment, taking food orders the next, running drinks, welcoming guests or helping the team during a busy live music night.

If you enjoy variety, working with people and being part of a lively hospitality environment, this could be a great fit.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the BAHA team, your role will include a mixture of bar and Front of House responsibilities, including:

  • Preparing and serving cocktails, spirits, wines, beers and soft drinks.
  • Taking food and drink orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Providing friendly and attentive table service.
  • Running food and drinks to guests.
  • Welcoming guests and helping create a positive first impression.
  • Processing cash, card and mobile payments.
  • Developing a strong knowledge of our food, drinks and cocktail menus.
  • Recommending dishes and drinks based on guest preferences.
  • Answering questions about menu items, ingredients and allergens.
  • Keeping bar stations and service areas clean, stocked and well organised.
  • Supporting opening and closing procedures.
  • Working closely with the bar, floor, kitchen, hosting and management teams.
  • Maintaining high service standards during busy restaurant services, live music nights and late-night weekend trading.
  • Following licensing, food safety, allergen, hygiene and health & safety procedures.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Friendly, confident and comfortable speaking with guests.
  • Happy working both behind the bar and on the floor.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Able to stay organised and positive when service gets busy.
  • Comfortable working evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • Interested in food, cocktails, drinks and hospitality.
  • Willing to learn our menus, cocktails, allergens and service standards.
  • Confident making recommendations and engaging with guests.
  • Flexible and willing to help wherever needed during service.
  • Presentable and professional in their approach.

Previous hospitality experience is preferred, particularly bar or table-service experience, but we’re also interested in people with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Nice to Have

  • Previous cocktail-making experience.
  • Experience working both bar and floor service.
  • Experience in a busy restaurant, bar or late-night venue.
  • Confidence upselling and making recommendations.
  • Knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wines or beers.
  • Experience using EPOS or reservation systems.

What We Offer

  • £12.75–£13.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • BAHA service charge: access to BAHA’s 7.5% service charge when working eligible shifts.
  • Staff tips: access to the staff tip pool.
  • 35% staff discount across participating Hargreaves Enterprises venues.
  • Live-in accommodation: limited staff accommodation available for full-time employees only, subject to availability.
  • Staff meals: discounted meals while working.
  • Training & development: ongoing in-house training and opportunities to develop your hospitality skills.
  • Career progression: opportunities to move into supervisory and management roles.
  • Accredited training: opportunities to work towards recognised hospitality and management qualifications.
  • Workplace pension, subject to eligibility.
  • Health & wellbeing support.
  • Company events and annual staff celebration.
  • On-site parking, where available.

Working at BAHA

BAHA offers a wider variety of experience than many traditional hospitality roles.

One shift might involve relaxed restaurant service, while another could include a busy cocktail bar, live music and a late-night weekend atmosphere.

Because BAHA operates across three floors and combines food, drinks and entertainment, you’ll have the opportunity to develop both your bar and Front of House skills rather than being limited to one area.

Schedule

  • Full-time and part-time positions available.
  • Day shifts.
  • Evening shifts.
  • Weekend availability.
  • Bank holiday availability.
  • Late-night shifts may be required, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays.
