Located on the picturesque promenade of Blackpool, our 42-acre amusement park has been providing thrills and entertainment for 130 years. As a Joiner, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the iconic and historic structures within our park, ensuring that every ride and attraction is in excellent condition for our guests.

Role

You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for carpentry and joinery projects throughout the park. You will be working on a variety of structures, including roller coasters, wooden buildings, and ride control systems. Your role will involve repairing, maintaining, and constructing new structures as needed, ensuring that the park's high standards are consistently met. Other projects will include our two hotels, company owned properties, theatres and surrounding areas. Lots to keep you busy!

Key Responsibilities

• Building, repairing, and maintaining park structures, including wooden buildings, roller coasters, and ride systems.
• Maintenance and repairs within our hotels, company properties and on site theatres.
• Understanding and following technical plans and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality in all projects.
• Working closely with other departments to ensure a seamless integration of projects with park operations.
• Conducting regular inspections and maintenance to ensure the safety and functionality of all structures.
• Providing creative solutions and ideas to improve and enhance existing structures in the park.
• Maintaining an organised and well-stocked workshop, ensuring all tools and materials are readily available.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times.

Experience

• Proven experience in joinery or carpentry.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Physically fit and able to work at heights.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Education

• City & Guilds or National Vocational Qualification level 2 is essential.
• Additional certifications or vocational training in carpentry or joinery is a plus.
