Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and monitoring spend on construction projects. This role requires strong clerical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will have an interest in business development, Buildtonic is a small but rapidly growing contractor- and somebody who is interested in helping grow the company would be advantageous. We have an office in Farnham and the job will be for 1 to 2 days per week initially.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and perform data entry tasks.
  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with budget preparation.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including clerical tasks such as filing and document management.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and vendors, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Experience in office administration or clerical roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite applications for documentation and communication purposes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
