Position: Finance Assistant

Location: Oswestry, Shropshire

Company: Hengoed Park

Job Type: Part-time 9:00am to 2:30pm (30 min unpaid lunch break) £12ph

Hengoed Park is a leading residential care home in Oswestry, providing pioneering care for people living with complex needs Our commitment to excellence is unmatched, and we are on the lookout for a dedicated Finance Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role will support our Head of Finance in ensuring outstanding financial and administrative operations. The role will be part-time, some flexibility will be required at busy times to accommodate over-time, ie at month end.

Main Duties:

- Assist in routine financial tasks: invoice processing, data entry, statement checking, and reconciliations.

- Handle resident monies and petty cash.

- Prepare payments for suppliers.

- Payroll administration to include reconciling actual hours worked against the rota, ensuring any forms of leave are accurately recorded.

- Engage in administration related to our workplace pension provider.

- Maintain precise financial records and assist with monthly reporting.

- Handle administrative tasks: placing orders for various departments, filing, scanning, call management, and handling post/deliveries.

- Bank cheques and petty cash at the Post Office or Bank.

Key Skills:

- A qualification in Accounting and Finance is desirable.

- IT Literacy with proficiency in MS Excel and Xero.

- Robust knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, and invoicing.

- Strong understanding of the need for confidentiality due to sensitive nature of data being handled.

- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

- Detail-focused with efficient time management skills.

- Ability to work cohesively within a team and independently.

- A drive for personal and professional growth.

- Ability to cultivate strong internal and external relationships.

General Requirement:
