GigLoo Ltd are a small but growing company providing top of the range mobile toilets and showers to the events market in the Southeast. We want to bring all accounting functions in-house, so we are looking for an accountant to join our team, working with our bookkeeper and management team. This role is around 16 hours a week (flexible) so may suit someone perhaps semi-retired looking to use their experience and knowledge to help us make the (mostly) right decisions going forward.

Your role will be to: Provide appropriate financial information, advice and assistance to support the decision-making process.

Ensure the accounting records, fees ledger, creditors ledger and nominal ledger are accurately maintained and in accordance with agreed timescales and procedures.

Help prepare annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance and reporting budget progress to budget holders.

Help to prepare full year forecast and management accounts including variance reports.

Advise on current and future financial issues and projects including feasibility appraisals.

Payroll & Pension experience would be extremely advantageous, for the accurate preparation and payment of all salaries, wages and pension contributions and other deductions on time, including PAYE and NI contributions.

Ensure that P60s and P11Ds are prepared and issued and that PAYE and NIC returns are complied with.

Administer the pension schemes for all staff, maintaining records and sending periodic returns as required.

Work with our experienced bookkeeper to produce fee invoices and respond to invoice queries. Receipt, reconciliation and expediting of fee payments.

Prepare returns and arrange any payments to third parties.

Complete all returns as required by HMRC, pension providers, auditors, etc.

You should be:

Qualified Accountant or part qualified with relevant experience.

Proven experience in financial reporting and in the preparation of management accounts, forecasts and statutory accounts.

Experience of practical accounting, bookkeeping and payroll in a similar role.

Ability to understand, interpret and communicate financial data at all levels of an organisation.

Sound knowledge of accounting standards.

Excellent Microsoft skills - Excel, Word and Outlook essential.

Confident in using Information Management Systems and able to learn new systems and processes quickly.

Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Maintain strict confidentiality where appropriate.

Strong interpersonal skills with a clear focus on customer service.

Previous experience of accounting packages


Annual basic salary, circa £12k-£15k per annum, plus 20 days holiday plus bank holidays. Free car parking, and other comprehensive benefits.

Part-time, permanent working around 16 hours per week in the office

Salary: c £12,000 to £15,000 per year
