If you're looking to start a rewarding clinical career where you can genuinely change people's lives, our Qualification in Hearing Aid Dispensing (QHAD) programme could be the perfect opportunity.

Join Boots Hearingcare on our fully funded, paid 56-week training programme and gain the skills, knowledge and practical experience needed to become a Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser. Combining formal classroom learning with hands-on clinical experience in our stores, you'll be supported every step of the way by experienced clinicians and dedicated trainers.

On successful completion of the programme and achievement of HCPC registration, you'll progress into a qualified Hearing Aid Audiologist role with a corresponding salary increase.

The Role
As a Trainee Hearing Aid Dispenser, you'll develop the clinical skills and confidence required to deliver exceptional hearing care while working within a defined scope of practice under both direct and indirect supervision.

You'll:
  • Learn how to carry out hearing assessments and support customers throughout their hearing care journey.
  • Develop practical clinical skills alongside experienced Hearing Aid Audiologists.
  • Build your knowledge through structured workshops, online learning and guided study.
  • Complete written and practical assessments throughout the programme.
  • Maintain a Clinical Competency Logbook to demonstrate your development.
  • Receive regular coaching, feedback and milestone reviews to support your progress.
  • Gain experience working across our clinics while delivering outstanding customer care.

Programme & development
Our 56-week Qualification in Hearing Aid Dispensing (QHAD) programme has been designed to give you everything you need to begin a successful career in hearing care.

The programme includes:
  • Training Centre workshops covering clinical skills, hearing science, person-centred care and professional standards.
  • Supervised in-store clinic experience alongside qualified Hearing Aid Audiologists.
  • Live virtual learning sessions and guided independent study.
  • Practical and theory assessments.
  • Ongoing coaching, mentoring and development throughout the programme.
Throughout the programme, you’ll:
  • Build your clinical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Complete written and practical assessments.
  • Maintain a Clinical Competency Logbook.
  • Work in-store alongside experienced clinicians.
  • Receive structured coaching and milestone reviews.

Programme Details
  • Start Date: Monday 19th October 2026
  • Duration: 56 weeks
  • Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
  • Weekend working: Required as part of the role

Who We’re Looking For
We're looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and want to build a long-term clinical career.

You'll ideally have:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer care.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within a structured training programme.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel between clinics as required.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Entry Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must:
    • Hold GCSE (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and Science at grade 5 (High C) or above (evidence required).
    • Ideally have relevant clinical experience, e.g. within a hearing care support or healthcare role.
    • Be able to work 37.5 hours per week, including some weekends.
    • Be willing to study independently and travel as required.
