Full job description

Overview

Care Connect Bury Ltd is looking to recruit compassionate, reliable and professional Night Sitting Support Workers to join our newly established Rochdale Night Sitting Service.

Working 10:00pm to 7:00am, you will provide high-quality overnight support to adults living in their own homes throughout Rochdale, helping them remain safe, comfortable and independent.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, is committed to delivering person-centred care and can respond calmly and professionally to changing situations during the night.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as you will travel between service users across the Rochdale Borough

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred care in accordance with individual care and support plans.
  • Support people with personal care, continence care, mobility and repositioning where required.
  • Provide reassurance, companionship and emotional support during overnight hours.
  • Monitor the wellbeing of service users and recognise any changes in their condition.
  • Escalate concerns appropriately to the Care Connect On-Call Manager, District Nurses, NHS 111, GP Out of Hours or emergency services where necessary.
  • Complete accurate electronic care records and report any incidents or safeguarding concerns promptly.
  • Support people following hospital discharge and help prevent unnecessary hospital admissions by responding to changes in their health or wellbeing.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment during every visit.
  • Work in accordance with Care Connect Bury Ltd policies, CQC Fundamental Standards and safeguarding procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, healthcare professionals and family members where appropriate.

Experience

  • Previous experience working within health and social care.
  • Caring, compassionate and professional approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions during overnight shifts.
  • Basic IT skills to complete electronic care records.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Access to your own reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to work 10:00pm – 7:00am.

Desirable

  • Care Certificate.
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Adult Care.
  • Experience supporting older people, people living with dementia or individuals with complex health needs.
  • Medication administration experience.
  • End of Life Care experience.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding adults and the Mental Capacity Act.

This role requires a compassionate individual capable of working independently during night hours while maintaining professionalism and attentiveness. The successful candidate will be committed to providing high-quality care that promotes safety, comfort, and positive experiences for children in their care.
