Youth Justice Team Leader
Shape the future of Youth Justice in Rochdale
This is an exciting time to join Rochdale's Youth Justice Service. As both National Youth Justice and Children's Social Care reforms continue to reshape services across the country, we are looking for an ambitious, forward-thinking and motivated leader who wants to help influence and develop practice, strengthen outcomes for children, and contribute to the future direction of Youth Justice in Rochdale.
Following our recent transition from a shared service arrangement to a standalone Rochdale Youth Justice Service, this role offers a rare opportunity to join a service at a pivotal point in its development. You will be welcomed into an established, experienced and highly committed team, whilst having the opportunity to help shape and influence how the service evolves.
As Team Leader, you will play a key role in driving high-quality practice, supporting and developing practitioners, promoting evidence-based interventions, and ensuring children, young people, families and victims receive the best possible service. You will be responsible for mentoring and supervising staff, contribute to service development, quality assurance, partnership working and innovation across the Youth Justice agenda.
What we can offer you
You will join a well-resourced service with committed partners who are passionate about keeping children at the centre of everything we do. Rochdale is proud of its strong partnership arrangements and collaborative approach to supporting children and families. Our Youth Justice Service benefits from well-established relationships with Children's Social Care, Education, Greater Manchester Police, Probation, and Health enabling practitioners and managers to work creatively and effectively to improve outcomes for young people.
We recognise that excellent services are built on excellent support. As a Team Leader, you will benefit from:
Regular reflective supervision and management support.- A visible, accessible and supportive leadership team.
- Opportunities to contribute to strategic developments and service design.
- Ongoing professional development and leadership learning.
- Support to develop specialist areas of practice and innovation.
- A culture that values collaboration, learning and continuous improvement.
- Strong links with the Greater Manchester Youth Justice network, providing opportunities to influence
practice beyond the borough.
This is an opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey, or an established leader looking for a fresh challenge in a service with ambition, stability and a genuine commitment to innovation.
If you are passionate about improving the lives of children, developing outstanding practice and helping shape the next chapter of Youth Justice in Rochdale, we would love to hear from you.
