Position Summary

The Belgian Brewer Bar & Coffee House is seeking a warm, energetic and professional Host to join our growing team in Epping.

As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and memorable experience. You will greet customers, manage seating, support service, assist with food and drink delivery, maintain presentation standards and help create an exceptional atmosphere throughout the venue.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with people, takes pride in delivering excellent service and thrives in a busy hospitality environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience

  • Welcome all guests with a friendly and professional approach.
  • Manage guest seating and table allocation.
  • Build rapport with regular customers and create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Answer questions about beers, coffee, wines, food and events.
  • Support customers in selecting products and experiences.

Floor Service

  • Deliver food and drinks to tables efficiently and accurately.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all customer areas.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and proactively address issues.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties.

Food & Beverage

  • Preparation of drinks
  • Preparation and presentation of charcuterie boards and pastry boards.
  • Maintain product knowledge across Belgian beers, wines, spirits and coffee offerings.
  • Promote seasonal products, events and special offers.

Venue Standards

  • Ensure tables, menus, displays and guest areas remain immaculate.
  • Support stock replenishment and merchandising.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for customers and team members.

Team Support

  • Work collaboratively with management and colleagues.
  • Support private events, tastings, quiz nights and special functions.
  • Contribute ideas to improve customer experience and venue performance.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

  • Positive and outgoing personality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for hospitality and customer service.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Reliable, punctual and professional.

Preferred:

  • Previous hospitality experience.
  • Interest in Belgian beer, speciality coffee or wine.
  • Experience working in cafés, bars, restaurants or hotels.
  • Personal licence.
