- Prepare, apply and finish internal and external plaster, render and drylining systems to a high standard.
- Lay and point brickwork and blockwork to required tolerances and match existing finishes where necessary.
- Carry out roofing tasks including roof coverings, flashings and basic roof repairs under supervision where required.
- Assist with groundworks tasks such as footings, trenching, drainage preparation and basic site excavation and reinstatement.
- Maintain trade-specific tools, small plant and PPE; report larger plant or equipment defects.
- Supervise and mentor less experienced operatives and apprentices on site when required.
- Ensure site set-up, protection of existing finishes, housekeeping and completion of snagging and handover checks.
- Comply with site-specific risk assessments, method statements and all company HSEQ policies; promptly report incidents or near-misses.
Essential skills and qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a relevant construction trade, City & Guilds, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Proven multi-trade experience (minimum 3–5 years) across a combination of carpentry/joinery, plastering, brickwork, roofing or groundworks.
- Good literacy and numeracy; competent with site measuring and basic materials take-offs.
- Strong ability to read drawings and follow technical specifications.
- Comfortable working at height and using access equipment (scaffolding, mobile towers).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to regional sites.
Desirable skills and accreditations
- PASMA, IPAF, Asbestos awareness, First Aid at Work or similar safety qualifications.
- Experience coordinating with specialist trades on complex refurbishments and new-build programmes.
- Experience supervising small teams and producing simple method statements.

- Reliable, punctual and able to manage own workload and priorities.
- Positive, team-oriented approach and clear communicator with clients, subcontractors and site teams.
- Adaptable and solution-focused when faced with site constraints or unexpected issues.

- Permanent PAYE employment with holiday pay and pension contributions.
- Ongoing training and career development with access to in‑house and industry-accredited courses to progress into specialist trades or supervisory roles.
