Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Plasterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastering techniques and be proficient in using various tools and equipment. This role involves working on both residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards. The Plasterer will collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and bricklayers, to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning, smoothing, and applying bonding agents as necessary.
- Mix plaster materials according to specifications for optimal consistency and application.
- Apply plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using hand tools and power tools.
- Finish surfaces to a smooth texture or desired finish, ensuring a high standard of workmanship.
- Repair damaged plasterwork as required, including patching and re-surfacing areas.
- Collaborate with team members, including carpenters and bricklayers, to ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance before final sign-off.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Plasterer or in a similar role within the construction industry is essential.
- Familiarity with various plastering techniques and materials is required.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively is necessary.
- Knowledge of masonry work, bricklaying, welding, or roofing is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality finishes consistently.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
