Choice Teachers are working with a college in Hemel Hempstead and is looking to welcome a dedicated Multi Skills Lecturer and Training Consultant to the team. Specialising in construction trades, this role is ideal for professionals passionate about teaching and mentoring students (aged 16+) in areas such as bricklaying, carpentry, block paving, drainage, and roofing. The College provides a range of training services for the business community, partnering with employers to align training with industry needs. Our commitment to workplace learning includes Apprenticeships and Workplace Training, building vital links with employers in line with our strategic objectives.
Main Purpose of the Role:
As a Lecturer and Training Consultant, you’ll be responsible for teaching, guiding, supporting, assessing, and reviewing learners on various programs, including Apprenticeships, Workplace Learning, and both government-funded and non-funded training. You will work with learners both on-site at the college and in their workplaces.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lecturer Duties (Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays): Deliver hands-on lessons to help students develop core and advanced construction skills.
- Training Consultant (1 flexible day): Support and assess learners in apprenticeship and workplace programs, helping them meet career milestones.
- Coordinate Learning Programs: Oversee a cohort of learners, helping them meet individual learning plans and portfolio requirements.
- Deliver Training and Assessment: Develop and deliver customised training programs, ensuring learners complete their training on schedule.
- Ongoing Support and Assessment: Conduct regular teaching, assessments, and progress reviews, set and monitor targets, address any challenges, and provide additional tutorial support as needed.
- Evaluate Competency: Assess learners’ vocational skills and theoretical knowledge in both realistic and workplace environments, aligned with national qualification standards.
- Functional Skills: Teach English, Maths, and IT skills as needed for apprentices to meet program requirements.
- Record Keeping and Compliance: Maintain accurate records and participate in standardisation to ensure verification standards meet College and awarding body requirements.
