Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile and skilled Handyman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and renovation tasks across various properties and sites. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong foundation in multiple trades, capable of delivering quality workmanship efficiently and safely. The successful applicant will contribute to maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities through expert craftsmanship and problem-solving skills.

Duties

  • Carry out carpentry tasks including repairs, installations, and modifications to structures and fixtures.
  • Perform roofing repairs or maintenance as required to ensure weatherproofing and structural integrity.
  • Conduct construction painting projects to enhance property appearance and protect surfaces.
  • Address plumbing issues such as leaks, pipe repairs, or fixture replacements with precision.
  • Undertake masonry work including bricklaying, repointing, or concrete repairs to maintain structural stability.
  • Operate welding equipment for fabrication, repair, or modification of metal components.
  • Handle electrical tasks such as installing or repairing wiring, outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures (where qualified).
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various repair and installation tasks.
  • Fabricate custom parts or modifications as needed for specialised projects.
  • Maintain safety standards by adhering to health and safety regulations during all activities.
  • Organise work schedules efficiently to complete multiple projects within deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, or electrical work.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to perform fabrication tasks with precision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in trades are preferred but not essential if extensive practical experience is demonstrated.
