Overview
We are seeking a skilled Stonemason to work with one our leading contractors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in masonry and have experience working with various stone materials. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Stonemason will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining stone structures, ensuring high-quality workmanship in all projects.
Duties
- Construct and repair stone structures such as walls, patios, and pathways using various types of stone materials.
- Perform bricklaying tasks with accuracy and skill.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to shape and finish stone.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of stonework with other building elements.
- Follow safety protocols while working on-site, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist in the installation of roofing elements where required, ensuring structural integrity.
Experience
- Proven experience in masonry or stonemasonry is essential.
- Familiarity with welding techniques is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficient in the use of both hand tools and power tools related to masonry work.
- Previous experience working alongside carpenters or in construction settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations related to masonry work.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings is beneficial.
