Overview
We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and be proficient in various construction techniques. As a Brick Mason, you will be responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and other types of building materials to construct walls, arches, and other structures. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople.

Responsibilities

  • Lay bricks, blocks, and stone according to specifications and building plans.
  • Prepare surfaces for bricklaying by cleaning and levelling the area.
  • Mix mortar and other materials as required for construction tasks.
  • Use hand tools and power tools effectively to cut and shape materials.
  • Ensure the structural integrity of walls and other constructions by following safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, and other tradespeople on-site to ensure project completion.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout the duration of projects.
  • Conduct repairs on existing masonry structures as needed.

Skills

  • Proficiency in bricklaying techniques with a solid understanding of masonry principles.
  • Experience using hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and levels.
  • Familiarity with power tools relevant to masonry work.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labour for extended periods.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all tasks undertaken.
