Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced bricklayer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and other masonry units with precision and craftsmanship. This role requires a skilled professional capable of working efficiently on various projects, ensuring high standards of safety and quality. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse building sites, contributing to both residential and commercial developments.

Duties

  • Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to technical specifications and drawings
  • Prepare mortar and ensure proper mixing for different types of masonry work
  • Use hand tools such as trowels, levels, and chisels to achieve accurate placements
  • Operate power tools including mixers, drills, and saws safely and effectively
  • Assist with related tasks such as carpentry, roofing, or welding as required on-site
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects within deadlines
  • Inspect completed work for quality assurance and adherence to building codes

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a bricklayer with a strong portfolio of completed projects
  • Proficiency in bricklaying, masonry techniques, and use of hand tools
  • Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively
  • Knowledge of carpentry, roofing, and welding is advantageous but not essential
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites
  • Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights if necessary
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in masonry or construction trades are preferred
