We’re looking for a Test Analyst to join KCOM and play an important role in ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of our systems and software.

Working closely with developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Product Owners and other stakeholders, you’ll support testing throughout the development lifecycle, helping to identify issues early and ensure changes meet business and technical requirements.

We’re open to candidates who already have software testing experience, as well as those who have strong technical or system knowledge, particularly Salesforce experience, and are looking to develop their career in software testing. If you understand how systems work, enjoy problem solving and have the ability and willingness to learn, we’d be keen to hear from you.

You’ll also support our shift-left approach to testing, identifying opportunities to improve processes, introduce greater automation and help us deliver high-quality solutions more efficiently.

Salary: £33,000 - £41,000 per annum depending on experience

Location: Carr Lane, Hull, Tuesday and Wednesday, hybrid working for the remainder of the week

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop test plans, test strategies, test cases and scripts based on business and technical requirements
• Carry out manual and automated testing to identify defects and ensure systems and software perform as expected
• Record, track and support the investigation and resolution of defects
• Work collaboratively with developers and wider stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle
• Support a range of testing including system, integration, regression, performance, user acceptance, accessibility and operational acceptance testing
• Identify opportunities where test automation could improve efficiency and quality
• Produce clear test documentation, progress updates and reports to support release and go-live decisions
• Assess product quality across areas including functionality, performance, reliability and security
• Identify improvements to testing processes, frameworks and tooling to create quicker feedback and reduce time to market
• Maintain accurate test results and environment information to support governance and change management
• Contribute to release planning and support projects to ensure testing and deployment milestones are achieved

Requirements:

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Experience working within an IT, systems, technical or software environment, or the technical aptitude and system knowledge to develop into a testing role
• A good understanding of how business systems and processes work, with Salesforce experience particularly welcomed
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand requirements, investigate issues and think logically about how systems should work
• Good attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
• The ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• An interest in developing your knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools and the software development lifecycle
• The ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities while maintaining a focus on quality
• A willingness to learn and develop your technical and testing capabilities

If you already have testing experience, we'd also be particularly interested in experience of:

• Designing and executing test cases and managing defects through to resolution
• Manual and/or automated testing approaches
• The software development and testing lifecycles (SDLC/STLC)
• ISEB/ISTQB or another relevant testing qualification
