About Us

U&I Care are a leading provider of specialist autism and complex care services across Warrington and Cheshire. Since 2011, we have been committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, and positive outcomes.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Behaviour Support Manager to lead and develop Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) across our residential and supported living services.

You will work closely with operational teams, support staff, families, and external professionals to improve quality, reduce restrictive practices, strengthen compliance, and deliver outstanding support for people with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs, and behaviours that may challenge.

The role will involve behavioural assessments, data analysis, audits, service improvement, staff coaching, and supporting services to maintain high standards in line with current CQC regulations, safeguarding legislation, the Mental Capacity Act (MCA), and best practice guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee Positive Behaviour Support across multiple services
  • Complete behavioural and functional assessments and develop PBS plans
  • Analyse behavioural data, incidents, restraints, and trends to improve outcomes
  • Conduct service audits and support action plans linked to quality and compliance
  • Support services with CQC inspections and regulatory standards
  • Promote proactive and least restrictive approaches to behaviour support
  • Deliver staff coaching, mentoring, and specialist PBS training
  • Work collaboratively with managers and multidisciplinary professionals
  • Support continuous improvement, governance, and service development initiatives
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and monitoring systems are maintained

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs, and behaviours that challenge
  • Experience working within supported living and/or residential care settings
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • CQC standards and compliance
  • Safeguarding legislation
  • Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and restrictive practice reduction
  • Trauma-informed and person-centred approaches
  • Experience completing audits, analysing behavioural data, and implementing improvement plans
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and supporting staff teams
  • Full UK driving licence

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must hold one of the following or equivalent:

  • Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • PBS BTEC Advanced Professional Diploma
  • Qualification in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
  • Degree in:
  • Psychology
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Health & Social Care
  • Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities
  • Autism Studies or related field

Desirable Qualifications

  • MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Autism, PBS, or related discipline
  • PMVA / MAPA / NAPPI / CPI Instructor qualification
  • Leadership or Quality Assurance qualification
  • Train the Trainer qualification
