Full job description

We are a Midland based builders merchants with 40 years establishment in the building trade. We currently operate five depots around the west midland region with a forward thinking culture to expand within the industry. We are looking for a FLT driver to work at our new depot in Tysley, Warwick Road B11 2HL.

The company currently operate around 18-20 truck vehicles in which all have the ability to load various types of materials with crane capabilities. This includes all building products including civils such as concrete rings, ducting, piping, bricks, blocks and jumbo aggregates.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Operate the forklift counterbalance truck
  • To ensure all Lorries are off loaded and loaded as required.
  • Work within tight spaces
  • Serve and load customers with required materials in a safe manner
  • Manual handling will be involved
  • Ensure vehicle checks are completed
  • All paper work regarding deliveries to be completed
  • Stock control and order picking
  • Report any deficiencies in the working of any machinery/equipment i.e. fork lift trucks for which you are responsible on a daily basis.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience working under your own supervision would be preferred
  • Experience booking in of stock is preferred
  • 2 years experience of working with building materials
  • Forklift counterbalance licence is essential
  • Ensure that a good standard of housekeeping is maintained at all times,
  • All tasks to be completed in the safest manner, adhering to all health and safety rules and regulations
  • Valid FLT licence preferred but training will be given for right candidate
  • Must have a current Driving Licence
  • Must be prepared to work outdoors
  • General housekeeping and manual handling

Benefits

Work 7.30am till 5.00pm Monday to Saturdays and some Sundays

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE HANDLING MATERIALS RELATING TO BUILDERS MERCHANTS.
