Watkin Jones is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the team delivering The Àrd, a landmark 784-bed PBSA-led mixed-use development at Charing Cross in the heart of Glasgow.

Standing at 36 storeys, The Àrd will become Scotland's tallest residential building and a defining feature of Glasgow's skyline. This flagship development represents a major investment in the city's continued regeneration, transforming the former Portcullis House site while sensitively incorporating elements of the existing HMRC building on India Street.

With a long and successful track record of delivering high-quality student accommodation across Glasgow, Watkin Jones is proud to continue its legacy through this innovative scheme, which will provide a mix of modern ensuite rooms and studios to support the city's growing student population.

The Opportunity

As Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of this prestigious project. Working closely with the Construction Director, client, and wider project team, you will help ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating daily site operations and subcontractor performance
  • Supporting programme management, design coordination, and project planning activities
  • Managing project risks, reporting requirements, and key documentation
  • Ensuring exceptional standards of health & safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Building strong and effective relationships with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and key stakeholders

About you:

The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 4, HND, or Degree in a construction, development, or project management-related subject. A CSCS card and SMSTS qualification are essential, while additional certifications such as health and safety training or a First Aid certificate are also advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of the build sequence, best practices in construction project management, and current trends within the sector. Familiarity with contract law is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and programming software is essential, supporting effective communication, planning, and project delivery.
