Assistant Installation Manager - Bespoke glazing
£45,000 - £55,000 a year
Full-time

Job details

£45,000 - £55,000 a year
Full-time
Monday to Friday
England

Full job description

Do you have a strong background in architectural glazing installation, an eye for detail and the practical skills to put things right on site?

We’re recruiting an Assistant Installation Manager / Quality Inspector for a specialist in high-end residential glazing, with a potential progression route into Installation Management.

This may suit you personally, or you may know someone whose experience fits. Either way, I’d be pleased to hear from you.

The key details

  • £40,000 basic salary plus performance bonus.
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Midlands office base, with extensive travel to installation sites.
  • Regular overnight stays are an essential part of the role.
  • Working with sliding doors, structural glazing, windows and rooflights.

Location and travel — where would you ideally be based?

Projects broadly follow a central corridor from Cheltenham and Gloucestershire, through Oxfordshire, Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire, across the Midlands and Birmingham, then north through the Manchester area and onwards into Scotland.

We’re particularly interested in candidates living within or close to this corridor. A central base in the Midlands or North West could be especially practical for reaching projects both north and south.

Your willingness to travel and stay away regularly is essential. This is a mobile, site-focused position, so please consider the wider travel requirements when expressing your interest.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll check the quality of completed installations, resolve smaller snags yourself and ensure outstanding issues are clearly recorded and followed through to completion.

Alongside checking levels, alignment, seals, hardware and finishes, you’ll liaise with homeowners, architects, builders and site managers to ensure the finished work meets expectations.

Reporting to the Installation Manager, you’ll identify recurring installation issues, help improve standards across projects and ensure clients receive a thorough handover.

What we’re looking for

  • Hands-on architectural glazing installation experience is essential, ideally within high-end residential projects.
  • Experience in quality control, snagging or site supervision.
  • Practical fault-finding and remedial skills, including adjustments, seals, hardware and finishing.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications and confidently use a laser level.
  • Clear communication and written reporting skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and CSCS card. Additional site tickets would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including to Scotland, with regular overnight stays.

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
