Our vision is to provide excellent therapeutic care where children feel valued, safe, and at the centre of everything we do. Every member of the team will contribute to creating a nurturing and trauma-informed environment where children can build positive relationships, develop resilience, and thrive. We are in the fortunate position to be able to hand-pick an exceptional management team, who will lay strong foundations for our staff and the children we support.

We’re looking for a highly experienced, values-led leader who is passionate about creating positive change in the lives of children. Our ideal candidate will be:

  • Compassionate and emotionally intelligent
  • Reflective in their leadership style
  • Enthusiastic about continuous learning and personal development
  • An excellent communicator and team builder
  • Dedicated and resilient, with a commitment to achieving the best outcomes in all areas of care

This is an excellent opportunity to be at the forefront of a new and exciting venture; shaping the culture and therapeutic ethos of the home from the ground up. Sagewood House will be a place of warmth, safety, and belonging for both the children and the entire team.

As Registered Manager, you will:

  • Embed a strong therapeutic approach to care
  • Ensure the home consistently meets the highest standards of care and compliance
  • Support children with emotional and behavioural needs
  • Lead, develop and inspire a dedicated team of residential care staff
  • Experience managing a children’s home and navigating the Ofsted registration process is essential.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • Annual Leave: 33 days inclusive of bank holidays
  • Performance bonuses & annual pay review
  • Company pension scheme
  • Ongoing CPD, including leadership development and specialist training
  • Health & wellbeing programme
  • Enhanced DBS covered
  • Free parking / On-site parking
  • Blue Light Card eligibility
  • Referral programme
  • Beautifully refurbished, comfortable workplace
  • A unique opportunity to establish and lead a new children’s home
  • Supportive working environment with a small-scale provider dedicated to high-quality care and staff well-being

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the setup of the care home, creating a stable and supportive environment tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Oversee the Ofsted registration process, ensuring the home meets all regulatory and quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of kindness, empathy, and understanding, while building rapport and positive relationships with children, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the care provided is always child-centred, valuing children’s perspectives and placing their well-being at the heart of all decisions.
  • Develop and implement a robust Statement of Purpose, promoting resilience, growth, and positive experiences.
  • Build and nurture a dedicated team of staff, inspiring them to be positive role models and deliver high-quality care.
  • Work collaboratively with external support networks and families to ensure holistic, needs-led care for each child.
  • Prioritise safeguarding and well-being, implementing practices that foster a safe and nurturing environment.

Experience required:

  • Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs, including managing challenging behaviours with empathy and consistency.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully leading a home through the Ofsted registration process.
